The Renegade Impervia was specifically designed with a playground environment
in mind. This model's pole is made from a length of 4.5" O.D. galvanized
schedule 40 tubing. When installed, the pole extends to a full 48" below the
playing surface. A vinyl cap completes the pole structure and keeps moisture
from penetrating into the pole.
The extension arm of the Renegade Impervia is held in place with a couple of
heavy-duty U-bolts. Even though you have the option of adjusting the rim height
on this model if your needs change, it is still considered to be an example of a
fixed height basketball system. When you are ready to move the goal either up or
down, you need to loosen the U-bolts from the extension arm and move the arm to
its new position along the pole. Reattach the extension arm to the pole by
tightening the U-bolts.
The backboard on the Renegade Impervia is firmly supported by a metal brace. The
braces and the extension arm are all powder-coated. Using galvanized metal to
construct the pole means that you have a rust-resistant basketball system. The
extension from post to backboard measures 48".
