The Sport III is an example of a product that gives you a very professional
look for your home basketball court. It features a heavy-duty 4" x 4" 11 ga.
steel post, which is 50 percent heavier than any other goal in its class. The
problem of rust damage to joints is eliminated due to this model's single-piece
design. The extension arm is securely attached to the post using two heavy-duty
U bolts. This is a fixed goal, but you do have the option of repositioning the
arm to any height along the post by loosening the U bolts and then tightening
them after you have completed the move.
The post is buried to a full 36" depth below the playing surface, which means
the basketball system won't wobble during play. If you would like to have the
flexibility to remove the post at a later time, add an optional ground sleeve to
your package. Once you have the unit assembled, the post to backboard extension
distance is 24". You can add all-weather post padding or backboard padding to
the Sport III for safety reasons, if desired.
